The Beads of Fealty is one of the most intriguing Lunar items available in Risk of Rain 2. While most Lunar items grant powerful statutory buffs alongside severe drawbacks, the Beads of Fealty offer no immediate combat advantages or passive stat increases. Instead, holding this item unlocks access to a secret alternate dimension and a unique boss encounter that awards players with valuable Lunar Coins upon victory.
What the Beads of Fealty Do
When picked up during a run, the Beads of Fealty seem completely passive and provide no statistical modifications to your survivor. Its true function triggers only when a player chooses to obliterate at the Obelisk located in A Moment, Fractured. Rather than immediately ending the run and returning players to the main menu, holding the item redirects the entire party to a secret realm called A Moment, Whole.
Inside this hidden zone, players encounter one of four formidable Twisted Scavengers waiting in combat. Defeating this powerful boss causes a sack to drop containing 10 Lunar Coins, double the amount earned from standard obliteration. Completing this battle successfully still counts as a full run victory and unlocks Monsoon survivor mastery skins.
How to Acquire and Use the Item
Players can acquire the Beads of Fealty by opening Lunar Pods scattered across environments or by purchasing them inside the Bazaar Between Time for Lunar Coins. To utilize its special effect, players must loop their run at least once before entering a Celestial Portal on Stage 3 of the loop. Once inside A Moment, Fractured, interacting twice with the Obelisk transports the team directly to the boss fight.
It is important to note that only one player in a multiplayer lobby needs to hold the Beads of Fealty for the entire squad to be redirected. Stacking multiple copies of the item on a single character yields no additional benefit, as the portal redirection effect does not scale with quantity.
Alternative Uses for Extra Stacks
Since duplicate copies provide no extra benefits, holding extra Beads of Fealty can clutter a survivor's inventory. Fortunately, players can safely trade extra stacks at Cleansing Pools encountered throughout various stages. Because the item lacks negative stat penalties, sacrificing it guarantees a risk-free conversion into a useful Pearl or Irradiant Pearl.
This unique property makes the item a great safety net when exploring Lunar Pods early in a run. Players can hold onto the item to fight the Twisted Scavenger later, or cleanse it without fear of losing critical player stats. Mastering the use of this item allows players to maximize their currency earnings while maintaining flexible build options.
